Benefits of adequate hydration


Severe cases of sodium deficiency (called hyponatremia) can lead to seizures or brain damage. Hyponatremia is often caused by excessive consumption of sodium-free water, which is common among endurance athletes. When the athletes rehydrate with saline water, the hyponatremia is reversed.

Increase your performance

The loss of bodily fluids inevitably leads to a drop in performance, especially when training takes place in a hot environment. Therefore, all individuals who play sports, train and/or compete are advised to rehydrate and replace fluids and electrolytes lost during exercise, primarily through sweating. In addition to being a physiological necessity, maintaining adequate hydration also contributes to a performance advantage and reduces the risk of medical problems or injuries due to dehydration.

Prevent your body from overheating

Extreme weather, both hot and cold, can increase the risk of dehydration. The hotter the temperatures, the more the body tries to cool down by sweating, which leads to a loss of water.
